Who Has Been Licking The Storm Door?

Ever be in a hurry and try and clean the palm prints and tongue licks off your glass door before your mother-in-law pulls up?  It can be hard to tell which tongue licks are from the toddler and which ones are from the dog, can't it? But you're in such a hurry you aren't paying attention to which way the nozzle is facing when you pull the trigger. A face full of toxic chemical that is now blinding and gagging you does not make a pretty image when mother dearest walks in. This is why I use the Basic-H as my window cleaner. I'm a cheapskate and like that it only costs me pennies per bottle. And since I am always accidently spraying myself in the face I like the fact it's non-toxic. It really works great, too. Since it's safe to use, why not get the kids to clean the glass with it. At least the first two feet up will be clean and you won't have to worry about them being poisoned when you catch them licking it later.  Should I be worried? Other kids do this, too...

Air Fresheners

Can contain highly flammable ingredients. Can cause irritation to the eyes, throat and lungs. Can cause asthma like symptoms. Can contain bulane, propane, ammonia, phenol and formaldehyde. Can cause harm including asthma, central nervous system damage, liver damage, cancer. We all want a clean smelling home, right? We have been brainwashed by marketers though to think our homes smell so bad we have to cover them up with highly toxic and pungent smells.  Exposure to these toxic fumes can cause severe harm, especially to babies, children and anyone who has a respiratory problem. Many parents have reported their children's asthma greatly improved by just stopping the use of air fresheners and other toxic cleaners. There are much safer and very effective ways to freshen your home without resorting to toxic chemicals and best of all, these ways are often free or very inexpensive! Some natural ways to freshen the indoors are: - Open windows. No matter the temperat...

How The FDA Keeps Us Safe From Chemicals

I share some quick facts about how many chemicals the FDA regulates out of the 84,000 chemicals available to us to use to clean our homes.  I apologize for the extra audio sounds. I didn't realize how much interference the breeze would have. It just was so pretty I wanted to do my Live outside! :D Here is the link to the upcoming webinar tomorrow where we will discuss how to clean safely and save money at the same time:  Healthy Home, Healthy Planet Webinar

(3 minute watch) Disinfecting The Kid's Lunchbox

A quick way I disinfect the lunchbox and why:  A qt. bottle is very concentrated and you put less than a teaspoon to a spray bottle.  This bottle lasts our family well over a year so you save a lot of money over the other brands! Find Basic-G here:   Basic-G® Germicide Highly Concentrated Germicide

Tip: How To Easily Remove The Seal Off The Liquid Laundry Bottle

All our bottles are shipped with this plastic seal to prevent the contacts from leaking out if the cap were to get broken.  This is great, but sometimes those seals can be a bit tough to remove, especially if you are faced with any physical challenge, such as arthritis, etc. Here I share my easy method to remove these tough seals. (Please forgive my camera. I inadvertently was leaning against it and moving it slightly causing it to have to keep refocusing.) If you would like to try our safe, non-toxic liquid laundry you can find it here:  Healthy Home - Laundry along with the rest of our laundry products. They are great to use, especially for those who have sensitive skin, allergies, asthma, and more. They also come with a money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied.

April Focus & Specials Happy Spring Everyone! With Spring often comes seasonal allergies and spring cleaning. We have solutions for both. For allergies, there are many things you can do to alleviate them naturally.  Often, the cause of severe allergies is a lowered immune system.  Build your immune system up and utilize the natural antihistamine Alfalfa, along with other immune boosting products and you can get some relief without the side effects medications give you. “But I’m allergic to grasses and alfalfa! How can taking alfalfa help me with my allergies?!” Good question. I’ve known many people who were allergic to the alfalfa grasses, but found great relief from taking Shaklee’s alfalfa tabs that actually do work as a natural antihistamine. We can discuss your specific concerns more in depth if you would like. Just click the "Contact Us" tab to make an appointment.  Another thing that is a huge contributor to allergie...

Dishwasher Tips - Making Your Dishwasher Perform Better

We love our dishwashers, don’t we? I love being able to throw the dishes in, slam the door, hit a couple buttons and walk away. And happiness is when all the dirty dishes fit in the dishwasher. Yay! After a while though, our favorite appliance can begin to let us down.  Dishes aren’t getting as clean as they used to, glasses are spotted and it can begin to smell. So what are we to do?  The thought of a new dishwasher sounds delightful, but don’t throw out your old friend quite yet. To keep your kitchen buddy working at his best, he does need some TLC.  Yes, that’s right – you need to do a bit of regular maintenance. Now before you start to say, “Ugh! I’d rather just buy a new one!” the maintenance really isn’t that hard – if you do it on a regular basis. The first thing to do is dig out the owner’s manual. The manual will tell you what parts you can take apart to clean. Can't find the manual? That's OK, most are pretty easy to d...
