What Is Your Favorite Part of Your Workout?

Mine would be stretching. It feels so good to stretch after working out.  Stretching helps prevent soreness and stiffness. Not being limber is very aging to the joints as well as the muscles. Now, you don't have to be able to stretch like a ballerina to get the benefits. Can't reach your toes without bending your knee? So what! Just s tretch till you feel a slight pull. Length comes with time as your muscles learn to "let go." You do not want to stretch till it hurts. Stretching should not cause pain. If it hurts, ease up a little. No bouncing! That is the worst thing you can do. Slow, steady and take your time.  And remember to breathe. Do not hold your breath while you are stretching. Just breathe normally, but not shallow. Want to know a secret to stretch further?  During your stretch, take a deep breath, then let it out slowly and breathe normally - you will be able to stretch about an inch further. Try it! My other favorite part of my workout...

Teen Acne Testimony

I started having problems with acne at the age of 14. After about 9 months, I saw a dermatologist. He gave me Tetracycline pills, and 2 topical antibiotics. My face cleared up after about 1 month, and I had clear skin for about the next 3 years. I then went to college. Thinking my ailment had been "cured", I stopped using the topical antibiotics. I hadn't been taking the oral tetracycline.....it seemed that 30 days of it in the beginning did the trick, and I didn't need any more. So......I went through the same routine again—took Tetracycline for 30 days, and started using the creams on my face. The same thing happened a couple more times over the next 4 years--about 4 months after I stopped the medicines, the acne would come back worse than the time before. After the birth of my daughter in 1997, I again stopped using the medicines, thinking that maybe with the hormonal changes my body had experienced, I was finally over it. Unfortunately, about a year a...

Get Clean Tip

Have greasy little fingerprints on your walls where the kiddos go by?  Maybe your child tried to make a smoothie on her own, but forgot to put the lid on the blender? When you are doing some extra cleaning, like washing walls, wiping down cabinets, etc, try a 1/2 teaspoon of Basic-H2  to a quart of warm water in a bucket or you can add a 1/4 teaspoon of  Basic-H2   to a 16 oz water bottle (add water first) and spray the areas, then wipe clean.  Basic-H2  gets everything clean using very little product and requiring very little effort on your part, so it saves you a ton of money and no elbow grease required! It is safe, non-toxic, has no fumes and is biodegradable. So whether you have kids, pets or just a busy household,  Basic-H2  will help. And because  Basic-H2  is safe, the kids who made the mess can also clean it up. Now that's efficient! :) Find it here:   Basic H2® Organic Super Cleaning Concentra...

Beating Leukemia & the Source of the Disease

There was no medicine in the world that could help Eileen Albrecht swallow the pain of watching her son die. Albrecht’s son, Ethan, was diagnosed with leukemia in 1997 at the age of 3. Ethan endured four years of conventional cancer treatment and a bone marrow transplant at the University of Michigan before doctors told the Grand Haven Township woman there was no hope. “He ended up with a secondary cancer when he was just 6 years old,” Albrecht said. “The doctors told us there was nothing else they could do. They gave him enough chemo to say our goodbyes and make peace with it.” There was no peace with it. Albrecht refused to accept the prognosis. She prayed. She studied. She prayed some more. She opened her heart and gave credence to the impossible. She entered the miracle of mystery. “Despite all the opposing circumstances, my mindset was God was going to see us through it,” Albrecht said recently. “We just didn’t give up.” Albrecht took Ethan to a ho...

Cholesterol, Thyroid, & High Blood Pressure Testimonial

As we all know...Shaklee's products don't "cure" anything except malnutrition. Keeping that in mind....let me tell you about my friend, Antoinette, who at the time was about 68 years old. When she started on Vivix, Vitalizer and 1 Cinch Shake about every other day (making a canister last a month), about 4-5 years ago, she was overweight (due to hypothyroidism), she was on thyroid medication, high blood pressure medicine, and cholesterol medicine. She had been on these 3 meds for 10-12 years at the time. And even on medicine, her blood pressure was still fairly high at appts (probably a case of "white coat" syndrome along with meds not really working that well). Anyway, she started on the Vivix, Vitalizer and Cinch and immediately noticed wonderful renewed energy! Understanding how beneficial the Vivix and Vitalizer are to her overall well-being, she was content with the energy boost and figured the products were doing what they needed to be doing...

Herbal Supplement Crackdown

Herbal Supplements sold by many retailers such as Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target and GNC were found by the New York Attorney General to not have in them what was on the label and could be dangerous to your health. These retailers were sent Cease & Desist letters by the New York State Attorney General’s office and told to pull these supplements from their shelves. Read the article here: New York Times: What’s In Those Supplements? Or watch the GMA clip here: Herbal Supplement Crackdown Now I am not one to bash another company, but you know if the government tells them to stop, it must be really bad, because the government rarely regulates anything to do with the herbal or vitamin industry. This is another reason I ONLY trust Shaklee . The FDA is in the very slow process of regulating this industry and actually came to Shaklee to possibly use them as the standard all other companies will be judged someday. I’m not one for a lot of government regulation, but something ...

Clean A Scorched Pot Easily & Safely

This is a picture of a pot I have. It is very old, old as me I’d say. Let’s just say it was purchased either during the Kennedy or the Johnson Presidency. To my knowledge the bottom has never been cleaned. Call it lazy, call it being too busy, but I know I never got around to cleaning the bottom and I think neither did my mother. I like using her pots as she has been gone since I was a girl. I often think of her and smile as I wonder what dinners she may have made (or burnt) in them. It makes me feel special to know she once lovingly burned the same dinner I do! My pots stay in the cabinet when not in use, and they get a lot of use, so I never considered it a top priority to clean the bottoms of my pots and pans. I decided to take on the challenge of cleaning the bottom. Why? To show you there are ways to easily clean pots and pans without poisoning yourself. See, the commercials for products you see where you just dip the pot into a solution and wipe off really do...
