Tip: Drink More Water This Winter


Make sure you are drinking enough water. It is very easy to become dehydrated in the cold weather. With furnaces running and cold temps your body can quickly become dehydrated. 
Drinking enough water is crucial to staying healthy. 

Did you also know that a lack of enough water can make you more susceptible to viruses? Your immune system relies on having enough water to function properly.

Backaches, headaches, muscle aches, constipation, depression and fatigue are all signs you may not be consuming enough water.

The goal is to drink half your body weight in ounces. For example: If you weigh 100 lbs, you would need to drink 50 ozs of water in a day.That may seem like a lot, but it isn't as much as it seems.

The best way to make sure you are hitting the mark is to pre-measure your daily allotment of water out in the morning in water bottles. That way you can grab and go and know at the end of the day where you are at. 

You may want to stop your consumption of water an hour before bedtime so you aren't up half the night running to the bathroom.

Be aware that when you start drinking more water, you will be going to the bathroom more often for the first couple of days. This is actually a good sign as your body is purging toxins.

After a week of drinking this increase in water you will see your skin soften, wrinkles be less noticeable, more energy, a happier mood, and you will see an increase in energy and bowel regularity.

Just make sure the water you are drinking is good, filtered water. You don't want to be drinking tap water or bottled water which is no cleaner than most cities' tap water. So be sure to invest in a good water filter. Here is what we use: Get Clean Water

Coffee, sodas and juice DO NOT count towards your water consumption. 

You can naturally flavor your water with lemons, limes, and other delicious fruit. Stay away from water additives that you pour or squirt in. They add calories, artificial colorings and flavors you definitely do not need.

So take this very important tip and make drinking more water a high priority - your body will thank you for it.

Testimony: ADD

I'm an adult with ADD but was never diagnosed. Scanning my old report cards, I see "doesn't concentrate, can't stay on task, has focusing problems".
