We have a 7 Day Healthy Cleanse that is helping so many people re-set their bodies to help facilitate fat burning and restore health. This “reset” is helping so many people feel better. It’s not a fast, but a change in what you eat for those seven days. The idea is to feed your body, not starve it.
While it isn’t too hard, there can be some challenges. One of them may be if you aren’t fond of vegetables or many fruits, it may be hard to find food you can eat.
Below is a common question and an answer that many found helpful.
Question to the cleanse group: “Got my prove it package and started day 1 on cleanse. I don’t like many veggies nor fish and little fruits. What do you guys recommend?”
Answer: “My husband hated fruits and vegetables when we dated. Everything had to be swimming in gravy, butter, or sauce. He learned to eat vegetables and I experimented to help him find ways to enjoy it.
Forty years later a heart surgeon stated those vegetables saved his life.
My suggestion is to try juicing then as your taste buds accommodate, try eating them cooked or raw.
My five year old grandson will not eat vegetables with his parents, but he loves kale juice with sweeter vegetables mixed with it. We started a garden with green beans. The rule is to eat what you pick so he asks to pick them then he eats them. Be like a child and find your creativity. Sweet potatoes can have pumpkin seasoning and taste like pie.
Soups blend the flavors so no individual one jumps at you. Some vegetables come to life with tarragon and fresh tarragon is fabulous! This is the perfect time to start a deck herb garden. It takes little energy but the scent will inspire you to cook and keep you busy.
If you stick to the cleanse, your body’s response to getting nutritious foods will override its trained dislike of those foods.”
This is so true. Our taste buds may be accustomed to certain starchy, fat, sugar filled food. They can be re-trained within a short time and those who were solid haters of vegetables found ways to prepare them that helped them ease the transition greatly.
The important point is with a little experimenting there are ways you can learn to incorporate more healthy food into your daily lives without your family and their taste buds revolting in disgust. Don’t fear mutiny, be willing and open to trying different recipes until you find what works.
And we can help.
